Phil Laven

Phil Laven was born and raised in Nanaimo, British Columbia. He moved to Nova Scotia with his wife Iris in 2014 and never looked back. He is proud to talk up his new home province to anyone. Phil is also a Toastmaster, a geography nerd and the proud owner of a goldendoodle puppy, Odin.

Phil is the Communications Manager for East Hants Community Rider, an accessible, door-to-door rural transportation service. Community Rider has expanded into the Fall River area and offers affordable transportation for all ages. It can be used for work, after school activities, grocery shopping, medical appointments and more. It can even get you to your COVID-19 vaccine or booster appointment for only $5!
