Allison Smith

Allison Smith is the photographer behind Dandelion Digital, a local business specializing in personal brand and event photography. She works primarily with service-based entrepreneurs whose businesses have grown through hard work and experience, but whose online presence doesn’t always reflect the quality of what they do. Allison helps clients create images that feel natural, approachable, and aligned with who they are, making it easier to show up online with confidence.

Her love of photography started in high school, then college, back when learning the craft meant developing film in a darkroom. Over the years, that interest grew through work in photography, media, social media, and community events, eventually leading her to launch Dandelion Digital in 2020.

Allison is known for creating photo sessions that feel relaxed, guided, and far less awkward than people expect. She understands that being in front of the camera can feel vulnerable, especially when you’re the face of your business, so she brings a calm approach, clear direction, and a bit of humour to help people feel at ease.

Proud to be part of a military family, where the Dandelion is symbol of the base brat - resilient, and thriving wherever it lands. Her husband is from Cape Breton and chose Halifax as a final retirement posting. They have 3 adult children, and live in Beaver Bank with their Goldendoodle puppies Arthur & Merlin.
